23 years ago, the world was introduced to Cloud, Aerith, and the metropolis of Midgar. The video game world was never the same, as the original Final Fantasy VII set a new bar for what a virtual experience could achieve. Flash forward to today and Square Enix is looking to recapture that magic with its long-awaited remake of the seminal classic. But does it deliver?
The good news is that while it may not be a perfect game, Final Fantasy VII Remake recreates the magic of the original with smart and engaging changes to the already successful formula.
