Replay – Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric
Early in the lifespan of the Wii U, Nintendo struck an interesting deal with Sega. Sonic's parents agreed to bring three exclusive games to the Wii U starring its famous blue hedgehog, and today we're playing the second of those games.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric did not turn out great. We gave the game a 4 saying, "No matter how fast he sprints, Sonic just can't seem to outrun the curse that follows him from game to game." For all its shortcomings as a game, however, it did turn out a pretty decent animated TV show. And we're not just saying that because we recently learned it contains a reference to our Super Metroid Super Replay! We decided to revisit the game and see if maybe, just maybe, we were wrong about our initial review of the game. Spoiler alert: we weren't.
