Dead Rising 4 Coming To PS4 With Absurd New Content

by Jeff Marchiafava on Sep 01, 2017 at 11:55 AM

Microsoft's exclusivity window on Dead Rising 4 is almost up, and Capcom is prepping some wild new content for the game's transition to PS4.

Announced today by Capcom Vancouver on PlayStation.Blog, Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package will include a new mode entitled Capcom Heroes, which allows Frank to don the costumes of over a dozen Capcom characters, endowing him with their corresponding special powers. In addition to the can't-unsee Cammy Costume above, you'll be able to dress up as Ghost Trick's Sissel, Mega Man X, and Street Fighter's Zangief, plus more. While some of those costumes were already available in the Xbox One version of the game, Capcom Vancouver describes Capcom Heroes as an "all-new way to experience the Dead Rising 4 story."

The PS4 version also includes all of Dead Rising 4's DLC content, including the single-player story content and wacky multiplayer-focused mini golf mode. Other bonus content that has been released for the game, including some more outfit packs and exclusive weapons, will also be yours, along with the harder difficulty levels that were added in an update.

Dead Rising 4 launches on PS4 on December 5 for $50. For more on the game, check out Jeff Cork's review of the Xbox One version.

Our Take
Having to wait a year for a game that's already available on another platform is never fun, but getting a bunch of extra content with it definitely helps. Despite the absurd new title, "Frank's Big Package" sounds like it's basically a game-of-the-year edition, bundling in all the updates and DLC at a slightly lower price (and no season pass shenanigans). If you haven't already played it on Xbox One or PC, it sounds like a pretty good deal.
