Reader Discussion: Are You Still Playing Pokemon Go?

by Javy Gwaltney on Aug 01, 2016 at 03:40 PM

Pokemon Go was released nearly a month ago and, after a round of server crashes, became a phenomenon, with countless players logging hours into the game. Soon after its release, various brands and businesses tried to capitalize on Go's trendiness and a number of bizarre stories have sprung up involving people getting into uh interesting situations while playing the game. Of course, while Pokemon Go has certainly been successful on a number of fronts, it's also had its widespread technical issues as well.

It's safe to say that Pokemon fever is still hitting the Game Informer offices pretty hard. Today, I watched a gaggle of my coworkers chase down a Porygon and hoot and holler in victory. As far as I'm concerned, I gave up on Pokemon Go after a week because a combination of being busy  and just not wanting to deal with the game's habit of breaking.

But what about you, readers? Are you still out and about capturing pokemon? Duking it out at gyms? Bragging about why your team is the best? If not, why? Tell us all about it the comments below.
