Rumor: Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington In MoCap Rig Could Be Related To Call Of Duty

by Mike Futter on Jun 09, 2016 at 06:04 AM

Last year, Marshawn Lynch had a “blink and you might miss him” cameo in Call of Duty: Black Ops III. When his inclusion was announced, ESPN shared images of the Seattle Seahawks running back in the middle of a motion capture sphere. Now another star, Game of Thrones' Kit Harington, has appeared in a similar setting.

To be clear, there is nothing concrete tying this footage to Call of Duty specifically. It is likely that this very similar rig is located in a motion capture studio used by Activision and others.

But with Kevin Spacey, Ben Browder, Jeff Goldblum, John Malkovich, Heather Graham, Ron Perlman, and Bruce Campbell already taking a turn in the series, star power in a Call of Duty game isn’t shocking. When reached for comment, an Activision representative said the company would neither confirm nor deny Harrington’s involvement.

The video, which was uncovered by and can be seen on Mashable, shows Harington being wheeled into a spherical motion capture rig. It looks identical to this one of Marshawn Lynch from last year.

With E3 just around the corner, we won’t have too long to wait to learn more about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. If you want to catch up on what’s been revealed so far, check out our previous coverage. Infinite Warfare will be out on November 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Our Take
Given the identical looks of the motion capture settings and Call of Duty’s penchant for star power, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Harrington show up. But whether he’d be part of the campaign or a celebrity-infused zombie mode is anyone’s guess.
