[Update] Telltale Publishing Announces 7 Days To Die With Live-Action Trailer

by Jeff Cork on Apr 07, 2016 at 06:53 AM

Update: Telltale has officially announced 7 Days to Die with a live-action trailer. Those that pre-order will get five skins based on Telltale's The Walking Dead. These include Michonne and Lee Everett.

The publisher has officially confirmed a June release for $29.99, but has not specifically dated the game for June 14.

Original Story:

Telltale Publishing has been teasing something new and spooky over the past few days, and it looks as though online retailer Amazon has prematurely booted the cat out of the bag. According to a listing on the site, Telltale is publishing The Fun Pimps' survival-horror game 7 Days to Die for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The site has it listed for a June 14 release, priced at $29.99. The open-world game was previously released on Steam, where the developer says it's sold more than 1.5 million copies. Players can craft and repair their own tools – including weapons, armor, clothing, and vehicles – to stay alive against a relentless undead threat. There are hundreds of items to create, and a wide variety of skills and perks to make survival easier (but not exactly easy).

According to the listing, the console version adds split-screen co-op, which should make you feel a little less alone out there. But be careful what you wish for; up to eight players can meet up online, either choosing to join forces and work together or take out their fellow humans.

This isn't the first game that Telltale Publishing has released. The company brought The Jackbox Party Pack to retail last year.

Our Take
I just got through an obsession with Dying Light, and I'm not sure I'm ready for another open-world zombie game. Perhaps when June rolls around, I'll change my tune.
