Find Out Which Amiibos Are Most Popular In Your Country

by Javy Gwaltney on Feb 03, 2016 at 10:03 AM

In a recent presentation that Nintendo gave to its investors, the company revealed it had shipped approximately 31 million Amiibos worldwide. The first wave of Amiibos was released in November 2014, with a total of 80 Amiibo types that have been released in Japan so far.

According to Nintendo's report, the shipments of Amiibos reached an all-time high for a quarter, with over 9.9 million shipped in the third quarter of the fiscal year. Since the first wave 57 percent of the Amiibos shipped were shipped to the Americas while 22 percent were shipped to Europe and 16 percent to Japan. Other interesting tidbits from the report include the most popular figurines in Japan being Splatoon characters while in the U.S., Link, Browser, and Toon Link reigned.

Nintendo ended the Amiibo section of the report by saying the company intended  to "continue to introduce new members of the Amiibo lineup." However, it's worth noting that as well as Amiibos have been doing, the success of these wildly popular figures hasn't stopped Nintendo from suffering a substantial drop in profits overall. Our Take
People sure do love those Amiibos huh? And there's little reason being given to Nintendo to stop making them, given just how many people are buying them, which leaves us wondering what direction the publisher is going to take the figures in and the rate at which they'll be released.
