Civilization Revolution 2 Plus Gets Another 11th Hour Delay, No New Date Announced

by Mike Futter on Jan 25, 2016 at 05:16 AM

Vita owners are having the rug pulled out from under them again at the last minute. 2K has announced that the Vita port of Civilization Revolution 2, due to release tomorrow, January 26, has been significantly delayed.

2K does not have an estimated release window beyond “2016.” “Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution 2 Plus for PlayStation Vita is now launching in North America and Europe later this year,” the publisher writes. “The team is hard at work making sure the title lives up to fans' expectations, and we appreciate your continued patience as we take the time needed to prepare the title for global release in 2016.”

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus was originally due for release in December 2015. 2K announced a last minute delay just a day before intended release at that point, also.

The game was originally designed as a mobile title. You can read our review of that version for more.

Our Take
Vita owners have been taking it on the chin lately. First The Banner Saga was put off for that platform. Then, Not a Hero was canceled altogether. Now 2K has issued a second last-minute delay for CivRev 2. I love my Vita, but it’s hard to believe the handheld has much life left in it.
