The First 1 TB PlayStation 4 Flaunts Sony’s New Call Of Duty Partnership

by Mike Futter on Sep 22, 2015 at 10:54 AM

This year’s Call of Duty installment, Black Ops III, marks a number of changes for the franchise. Cooperative play gets a boost this year, as players can take on the story with friends. There’s also a major shift on the platform front.

Starting in 2010, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Microsoft and Activision were partnered up. DLC arrived a month in advance of PlayStation and PC platforms.

In 2015, the sides are flipped, with Sony announcing that it is now allied with Activision for this purpose for this year and beyond. To celebrate the deal, Sony is putting Call of Duty branding on the first 1 TB PlayStation 4.

The console is priced at $449 and includes a copy of Black Ops III. Also included is the revisited Nuk3town map.

Our Take
I’m not a big fan of the looks of this console. However, those looking to get a PS4 this holiday might want to consider it for the larger hard drive. I’m still using my original 500 GB drive, and to suggest that I have to juggle to keep enough space open would be an understatement.
