Remedy Won't Have New Quantum Break Info Until Gamescom

by Mike Futter on Jun 08, 2015 at 06:43 AM

We can scratch one title off the list for Microsoft's E3 Press Conference. Remedy's Sam Lake has revealed that the title won't be at E3, at least not with new information.

This year is Remedy's 20th anniversary, and the studio is celebrating. At the end of the birthday video below, Sam Lake reveals more about when we'll learn more about the studio's next title.

"We were at Gamescom last year with Quantum Break. It was great fun," he says. "We'll be there again this year, the next time we are releasing new material."

Quantum Break was scheduled for release this year, but was delayed until 2016. We still have yet to see content from the live-action portions of the title.

Remedy and Microsoft have been talking about the game as a narrative weaving between gameplay and a series of live-action "episodes." For more on Quantum Break, check out our coverage from Gamescom.

Our Take
As a Remedy fan, I'm glad the studio is still going strong. As someone extremely eager for Quantum Break, this news breaks my heart just a little. If not for seeing the game firsthand at Gamescom last year, I'd be skeptical about this announcement. If this means a huge coverage blitz instead of something significantly weaker, I'm willing to wait.
