Bungie Finds Problem With Destiny Update, House Of Wolves Release May Be Affected

by Mike Futter on May 13, 2015 at 07:35 AM

Bungie has shared an update with the Destiny community that may have implications for Tuesday’s planned expansion rollout. House of Wolves is due on May 19, but a technical problem may impact that.

The issue stems from a recently discovered technical issue with update 1.2.0, which was issued last week but not yet activated. Engineers have since discovered a problem.

“I’ve spoken with the finest minds at Bungie about Update 1.2.0 just moments ago,” writes community manager David “Deej” Dague. “They're working to correct a late-breaking technical issue that would have impacted the way the game launches for a large portion of you. Progress is being made.”

Dague indicates that there may be some change in the House of Wolves rollout as a result. “We'll be sharing new details on the deployment schedule that leads to House of Wolves as soon as they become facts,” he says. “At the very least, you'll hear from me once a day about this. Hang in there, and thank you for your patience.”

Our Take
A delay in the House of Wolves release would be troublesome, but better than launching it only to have the game break for a large number of users. For now, stay tuned as more updates come in. The content may still drop on time.
