Activision Confirms New Tony Hawk Console And Mobile Games Coming In 2015

by Mike Futter on Nov 07, 2014 at 11:25 AM

Activision and Tony Hawk are working together again, and not just on a mobile title. The pro skating legend shared via Twitter that new mobile and console titles are coming in 2015.

When reached for comment, an Activision representative confirmed the news. “We can confirm Tony Hawk’s Shred Session is postponed indefinitely, and that new Tony Hawk console and mobile titles are coming in 2015,” we were told via email. We’ll share more details as they become available.”

We don’t know if this is a retail or digital-only title. We also don’t know yet who is handling development, with previous series developer Neversoft now part of Infinity Ward.

Our Take
A skateboarding game designed for new-gen consoles in the spirit of the original entries in the series sounds like a delightful idea. I’m definitely interested, though cautiously so until we know who is at the helm.
