PlayStation 4 Space Shooter Resogun Heading To Vita

by Mike Futter on Oct 31, 2014 at 05:35 AM

Developer Housemarque has announced that its voxel-powered Defender-like, Resogun (our review), will blast to another platform. Many have played the title on Vita with remote play. Now you’ll be able to do so natively.

Climax Studios is handling the port, but additional details aren’t yet available. We do not know yet when it will arrive on Vita or if this version will be offered as a cross-buy deal.

Since its release, Resogun received a free ship editor and its first paid DLC, the Heroes Expansion in June. At the same time, Sony began offering a season pass that promises more content before June 2015.

Our Take
Resogun was a free giveaway at the PlayStation 4 launch, especially since every early console came with a month of PlayStation Plus. It wouldn’t be entirely surprising for it not to be a cross-buy title for that reason. However, with Sony publishing, it may opt to rope in the Vita version for those that maintained their Plus memberships.
