Resogun: Heroes Expansion Announced
New modes and a ship editor are on track to release later this month, and a new trailer shows off what we can expect.
The excellent PlayStation 4 title may not be getting a sequel right now, but today brings news that the existing game is getting a new expansion, releasing later in June. Survival and Demolition modes are changing up the gameplay, while a brand new ship editor gives players increased flexibility regarding how they enter battle.
Survival mode is an endless mode that is similar to a traditional arcade mode, but scoring is different, humans have parachutes, and a day/night cycle changes up the background visuals as you continue your fight.
Developer Housemarque describes Demolition mode as “Arkanoid meets Resogun.” Players control a wrecking ball that is used to smash through everything that you can, and the gameplay mechanics include new features like multiball, extra balls, and other pinball-like features.
A free patch for all Resogun owners also adds a ship editor for players to explore (launching June 23), but the new game modes will officially be part of the Heroes expansion, which costs $4.99 on June 24. Considering that PS Plus members never had to pay for Resogun in the first place, that’s not a bad deal. You can also pay $7.99 and get all the future expansions, which are promised to have other new game modes.
