Today, Andrew Wilson, chief executive officer of Electronic Arts, confirmed that a new Battlefield will hit in 2016. The news was shared on the company's second quarter FY15 earnings call.

Yes, a new Battlefield is coming, but not until holiday of 2016. Wilson shared the news after the company confirmed a March 17 release date for Battlefield Hardline today. Our Take
It might be wise to give Battlefield some breathing room since the franchise encountered unstable servers and fan backlash with Battlefield 4. Star Wars Battlefront is an anticipated title and this means the two won't have to go up against each other. Waiting is probably smart.
