Microsoft Announces HaloFest, Reveals Halo: Nightfall Official Trailer

by Mike Futter on Oct 22, 2014 at 07:15 AM

Microsoft is gearing up for the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection next month. The package of the four Halo games starring John-117 will be released alongside the live-action Halo: Nightfall series, for which we now have the official trailer.

In addition to the new footage of Halo: Nightfall, Microsoft has also announced HaloFest. The event will take place on November 10 in Los Angeles, and you’ll be able to tune in to a live stream if you can’t be there.

The event will include an early look at the Halo 5: Guardians Beta, the premier of Halo: Nightfall, and interviews with the 343 Industries team. A Halo tournament will take place on November 8 and 9 at ESL’s headquarters in California. You’ll be able to catch that via live stream, too.

For more on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, check out our preview from PAX. You’ll be able to dive back into the series on November 11.

Our Take
I’ve always been a big fan of Halo’s lore, and I’m curious to see how Halo: Nightfall expands on it. I had a chance to see Halo 2 Anniversary in action during Gamescom, and I’m impressed by how much care has been taken in the update. This isn’t just an up-res, and if you enjoy the series, I expect that it will feel like a brand new experience.
