ESL Gaming App Offers eSports Viewing, Competition On Xbox One

by Mike Futter on Oct 21, 2014 at 09:04 AM

Microsoft and ESL Gaming have announced the release of the ESL app on Xbox One. ESL joins MLG and Twitch as portals to eSports on Microsoft’s new-gen console.

With the new app, you’re able to watch eSports events and compete. ESL recommends that new players start with Open tournaments to get experience before trying to qualify for major events.

The app is available today in the United States, Canada, and 21 other countries.

Our Take
This is another step in making eSports more accessible to the average player. Giving people more ways to watch and opportunities to participate will help grow viewership across eSports in the long-term.
