MLG App Available On Xbox One In Time For Weekend Championship

by Harry Mackin on Jun 19, 2014 at 07:55 AM

Major League Gaming (MLG) released the MLG app for Xbox One today. The App will allow Xbox One users to watch the entirety of this weekend’s MLG tournament live via MLG.tv.

Xbox users who download the app will also have access to MLG.tv’s other programming, including news show “eSports Report.”

The MLG Championship will take place in Anaheim, CA from June 20-22. Pro gamers will compete for $150,000 of prize money in an International League playoff. Games to be played include Call of Duty: Ghosts, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and for the first time ever Killer Instinct and Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The Championship starts this Friday at 2:30pm PT and will be streaming live all weekend. Check out MLG’s official website for a full schedule of the weekend’s events.

Our Take
This is something a lot of MLG fans have been asking for for awhile, so it's nice to see it happening right before a big event. It's also cool to that MLG is committed to bringing its content to gaming systems and shows that it seems to understand its audience well. Hopefully MLG will keep making their services available in as many ways as possible.
