Middle-earth: Shadow Of Mordor Season Pass Gets Early, Incomplete Details
Warner Bros. and Monolith have detailed the planned expansion content for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. While WB has offered some detail, there are still some missing pieces missing that would be useful to know.
The season pass will include a new warband mission (Guardians of the Flaming Eye), early access to the Trials of War challenge missions (which sounds like horde mode), the Lord of the Hunt beast-hunting missions, and The Bright Lord story missions that put players in the role of Celebrimbor as he fights Sauron and his forces.
There is also a hint that “future content” will be included, which could include more upgrade runes, skins, and other even more ambiguous items. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be out on September 30 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. For the latest on Shadow of Mordor, check out a look at Gollum's role in the story.
Update: Warner Bros. responded to our request for further detail. The season pass will cost $24.99.
Our Take
Season Pass announcements are becoming harder to swallow, especially since the descriptions of the content don’t mean much without a deep understanding of the game. The lack of pricing and general timing of content rollout mutes my enthusiasm for these expansions.
