Even though we're in a month where new AAA titles are scarce, we can take solace in knowing that there will be always something new to play on our mobile devices. This week we take a look at some re-releases, sequels, and brand new titles.

Game of Thrones Ascent
Developer: Kongregate
Platforms:  Android, iOS
Price: Free (with in-app purchases)

While this game has been available to play on your PC and iPad for some time already, it has recently come to iPhone and Android devices as well. Now almost anyone can start a noble house in Westeros on the go.

Game of Thrones Ascent offers a compelling story that even George R. R. Martin himself believes to be authentic to the series. Couple that with thousands of quests and adventures and you have an interesting, and best of all free, RPG experience.

Battle Fleet 2
Developer: Capital j Media
Platforms: Android, iOS
Price: $4.99

Battle Fleet 2 drops you off in the middle of the Pacific theater of World War II. In the style of Worms, you must eliminate all opposing forces using various weapons. The game also has online multiplayer for those looking for a greater challenge.

Secret Files: Tunguska
Developer: Deep Silver
Platforms: iOS
Price: $4.99

In the July gaming drought, we may be scraping the barrel. This is another game that's been out for a while (eight years old, in fact) but it's finally landed on mobile devices, so we figured it would be worth a mention. Secret Files: Tunguska is a point-and-click adventure that has you unravel a mystery a century in the making.

Zombie Commando
Developer: Bulkypix
Platforms: iOS
Price: $1.99 (for a limited time)

This isometric shooter has you taking down hordes of zombies and rescuing survivors. It may sound like everything we've seen before, but the fifteen classes and assortment of upgrades and weapons may interest even the most jaded anti-zombie game crowd.

This week was pretty light on new interesting releases, but it's to be expected given the times. What are you playing on your phone and tablet?
