Metro Redux Gets Release Date Before Summer’s Last Light

by Mike Futter on Jun 24, 2014 at 06:38 AM

Deep Silver and 4A Games have dated the new-gen updates for Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. The titles will be available separately via digital distribution platforms and as a retail bundle, and you’ll get to play them before Labor Day.

The two titles will be available as separate purchases via digital distribution platforms for $24.99 each. A retail bundle will bring both titles together for $49.99.

The updated versions allow players to choose the survival horror approach of Metro 2033 or the more aggressive play style of Metro: Last Light in both titles. Ranger mode, which removes the HUD and makes resources and ammunition scarcer, are available for both.

Digital and retail options will be available on August 26. For more, including the announcement trailer, check out our previous coverage.

Our Take
The Metro games provide a non-traditional first-person experience with great storytelling and characterization. If you haven’t yet had a chance to play one or both of these, I’d recommend keeping Metro Redux on your radar.
