With Captain America: The Winter Soldier reigning victorious at the box office, it’s no surprise that Disney is choosing this moment to promote tie-in products. We reported on Marvel figures for Infinity, and today Disney has confirmed that superheroes are coming.

We don’t know a lot about how Marvel will be incorporated into the Disney Infinity world. The “Get Ready to Assemble” video is just a teaser featuring Captain America’s shield.

We also don’t yet have an explanation for what Disney Infinity’s “2.0 Edition” is, or if this means that new figures won’t work without a new piece of software. We’ve reached out to Disney to get clarification on just what “2.0 edition” means for families that have already invested in the game.

Our Take
Dropping the “2.0 edition” label in the trailer with no context or explanation isn’t a wise decision. I’m expecting that this means a new game and possibly new hardware. Leaving families to speculate about what a new term means isn’t good business.
