Reader Discussion: How Important Is The Platinum Trophy?

It was revealed earlier today that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will not include a platinum trophy for completion. Is this a concern?

Kojima says no platinum trophy is included because it is not a full-price game and the request comes from Sony, but other games that don’t sell for full price, like Puppeteer, have had a platinum trophy. It’s all very strange (like Metal Gear tends to be), but is it a big deal?

Are you surprised the game won’t offer a special reward for achieving all of its trophies? Does it not affect your excitement for the game in any way? Do you care at all about trophies or achievements?
