Murdered: Soul Suspect Coming Right Before E3

by Mike Futter on Mar 04, 2014 at 06:06 AM

Square Enix has put an expiration date on the life of detective Ronan O’Connor. Murdered: Soul Suspect will be arriving in June just before E3.

The title, which is under development at Airtight Games, has been given a June 3 release date here in North America. The story is a supernatural murder mystery, in which players take control of a deceased detective who is working to solve his own murder.

If you’re planning on picking it up for new-gen hardware, the game will run you $59.99. For last-gen consoles and PC, the asking price is $49.99.

Our Take
Murdered: Soul Suspect has my attention. I've liked what I've seen of the procedural elements, and the supernatural hook is a good fit for my interests. My only concern is that investigation mechanics tend to bog things down. If Airtight Games can keep the pace up and the story engaging, this could be a winner in my book.
