Trademark For Alien: Isolation Appears

by Matthew Kato on Oct 21, 2013 at 04:37 AM

20th Century Fox has filed a trademark for Alien: Isolation that covers video games and other doodads.

Apart from covering what we hope is a video game, the trademark also covers eyeglasses, "mobile software applications," ringtones, decorative magnets, and more.

Although the trademark was filed by 20th Century Fox, the film company did the same on the behalf of Sega for Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Could this be the long-awaited Sega Alien game by strategy studio Creative Assembly?

Our Take:
While Gearbox's Colonial Marines was not a good game, it doesn't mean that Creative Assembly or anyone else can't do something productive with the franchise. A job listing at Creative Assembly appeared last year for a next-gen Alien title, so hopefully today's news is another step in the right direction.
