Alien Developer Aiming At Next-Gen

We're all still waiting for Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines title, but don't forget about Sega's other project: A game based on the original Alien film being done by Total War developer The Creative Assembly.

Gamerzines has uncovered a Creative Assembly job posting for a multiplayer/gameplay programmer that tabs the project for both current and future consoles.

The posting reads in part: "We are seeking an experienced programmer with proven skills in the area of gameplay and multi-player games. The successful applicant will be working on a AAA multi-platform title on current and future generation consoles set in the Alien universe."

Nothing is known about the game itself yet, and it was originally announced as a title related to the first movie in the franchise. Perhaps the job description's wording of "Alien universe" shows that the scope is being broadened.

  • If only I had the skills
  • Ahh! Bring on the future!

Nothing wrong with a little more Alien in our lives. :D
  • cool

  • I can't wait as more and more next-gen facts trickle out. What are the new systems going to look like?
  • I want a new console, but at the moment i don't have the money for it. And frankly, with Microsofts insane move of basically "Let's rent a console." I fear what ideas they think we will want in the next gen

  • I've heard this before. Remember the Sega developed alien RPG? Sega are a bunch of teases.
  • Next Generation: Like a boss.

Bring it on, Sega. The sooner you can push out some games with the new consoles, the better.

  • To bad we don't have a solid release date for next-gen consoles.

  • I participate in the Circle of Life.
  • No..... what about total war?
  • Interesting...

  • more teases for the next consoles. dang it just show them already

  • I'm sick of current consoles. Its already been 7 years since last gen started and Sony and Microsoft really think they can hold on to this gen without releasing new hardware for another 3 years?? This is why I'm so excited for Wii U and am buying it on day one.
  • hmmm

  • This is really interesting :)

  • Next year looks to bring next-gen consoles

  • I don't know about this. Can't see Creative Assembly and the Alien IP coming together...but I'm rooting for 'em. The "Total Warrior" franchise was underrated and showed they could do more than strategy games; both Spartan and Viking were cool games. That franchise shouldn't have fizzled out; I'd like to see another.
