Your Madden 25 Ultimate Team Is Safe In Next-Gen

by Matthew Kato on Jul 23, 2013 at 05:43 AM

EA Sports' free-to-play (with microtransactions) Ultimate Team mode is addictive, and Madden NFL 25 developer EA Tiburon is working to let you keep your progress in the mode if you move from the current-gen version to the next-gen one.

Ultimate Team players who own the current-gen version of Madden NFL 25 will get to transfer up to 1,100 UT items over to the next-gen version (naturally only from PS3 to PS4 and Xbox 360 to Xbox One). This is a one-time move that requires an online connection, an EA Origin account, and a PSN or Xbox Live account. You'll get to transfer up to 55 players, 45 items, and 1,000 reserve items in the migration. Once transferred, you can still use your UT cards on your current-gen system, but you will not be able to trade or auction them.

Furthermore, if you own the Madden NFL 25 Anniversary Edition for the current generation, you will get six UT All Pro packs for use on a single next-gen console.

Madden NFL 25 comes out on August 27 for current-gen systems and later this year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Our Take
This is a great way to help out fans who will be spending money on both versions as well as any Ultimate Team cards – especially since EA is under no obligation to do this. Hopefully it will help evangelize the mode and its growth.
