Square Enix's intention to create HD rematers of Final Fantasy X and X-2 for PlayStation or Vita had been long talked about among fans of the series. Now, it's official - and the HD remaster will be coming out for both PlayStation 3 and Vita.

In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, remaster producer Yoshinori Kitase officially announced the games, which will be released in America sometime before the end of 2013. Kitase said, "I invite you all to once again join Tidus and Yuna as they combat the colossal menace known as "Sin" to bring about lasting peace to the world of Spira - all in gorgeous HD!"

We'll keep you posted on more information about the HD remakes, until then gaze at these lovely screenshots.
