Is There Anything To Look Forward To On Vita?

by Dan Ryckert on Nov 29, 2012 at 10:46 AM

Like many gamers, I excitedly plopped down $250 this last February for the newest handheld from Sony. Sure, I got burned on the PSP, but this would be different, right? Man, just look at that screen! And two analog sticks? Hot damn, I'm gonna play the hell out of this thing. Cut to ten months later, and the game I've played the most on the system is 1997's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Are us Vita owners destined for PSP: Part 2?

So far, it looks that way. Big franchises like Assassin's Creed, Resistance, and Call of Duty have landed on the portable, with results ranging from lackluster to atrocious. The only upcoming game that I'm somewhat intrigued for is Tearaway, and that's just because of the Media Molecule name attached to it. Outside of that, I picture myself packing my Vita into my carry-on bag during every flight, only to remember that I don't want to play any of its games once I'm airborne.

How about you? If you're a Vita owner, what light at the end of the tunnel (if any) can you see?
