Naughty Dog Co-Founder Becomes THQ President

by Tim Turi on May 29, 2012 at 12:05 PM

THQ has had it rough lately. When the going gets rough, changes need to be made. For THQ, a big part of pulling itself up from the financial dredges appears to be appointing Jason Rubin, co-founder of Naughty Dog, as the company’s new president.

Rubin replaces former THQ president Danny Bilson, who’ll be moving on to something new. When he was at Naughty Dog, Rubin helped create the highly successful Crash Bandicoot and Jax and Daxter series. Following his departure from the company in 2004, Rubin co-created Flektor, a media mashup tool.

THQ is down but not out. Hopefully Rubin’s proven leadership and industry experience will help the troubled company find secure footing in its attempt to create successful, AAA games. We wish Mr. Rubin and THQ the best of luck.
