The fan-focused Penny Arcade Expo has continued to rise in popularity year after year, and it doesn't look like the people behind it have any plans to slow down. Penny Arcade will be holding the third annual PAX East spin-off of the event in Boston this year, and it won't be the last by a long shot.

Gamasutra reports that PAX East organizers have signed a deal with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority that ensures PAX East will stay in Boston every year until at least 2023. The deal also has the PAX crew donating $25,000 every year to the Massachusetts Digital Games Institute, a group devoted to game-related academics, job creation, and general game industry support in the state.

The original PAX East contract with Boston was set to expire this year, but apparently the city was pleased by the nearly 70,000 people who flooded in for the convention last year and would like to keep those numbers up. Anyone planning to make the trek to Boston for this year's PAX East in April?
