Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models Guest Star In Need For Speed: The Run
If you're a fan of current Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover model Irina Shayk (pictured above) or fellow swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen, you may want to check out Need For Speed: The Run. The latest in EA's long-running racing series will feature guest star roles from both of these models.
EA says that Shayk and Teigen will play best friends in the game who end up being rival racers competing against the main character. In addition to this tie-in, EA will be creating a "Making of Need For Speed: The Run" DVD that will be included in an upcoming Sports Illustrated subscription deal alongside six months of the magazine and a copy of the game. Sports Illustrated will also be advertised on billboards within The Run.
Strangely, the press release notes that these characters will only be in the 360, PS3, and PC versions of Need For Speed: The Run. In other words, they'll be missing from the Wii port for some reason.
Sports Illustrated publisher and vice president Frank Wall explained why this partnership makes sense:
"There are only a few companies that deliver upon the promise of excitement and innovation with every new product launch and EA stands at the top of that list. This is why it is very exciting that SI Swimsuit will be part of the latest edition of the Need for Speed franchise. I’m sure that the millions Swimsuit fans will be excited to see Irina and Chrissy behind the wheel and millions more will be introduced to franchise in a fun and unexpected way."
