3DS Circle Pad Add-On Is Real
Despite rumors last week, Nintendo didn't reveal the above second analog pad add-on for the 3DS during its pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference. Oh, the add-on exists -- Nintendo just waited until after the press conference to announce it.
Weird timing aside, Nintendo announced that the "3DS Expansion Slide Pad" will be released on December 10 in Japan for 1,500 Yen (about $19). The publisher has not yet given an official date or price for North America.
Currently Nintendo says the add-on will be compatible with Monster Hunter 3G, Resident Evil: Revelations, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Ace Combat 3DS, Dynasty Warriors 3DS, and Kingdom Hearts 3D. As far as we know right now, the add-on isn't required for any of these games, but it will almost certainly make some of them more comfortable.
Hopefully we'll hear news on a U.S. release soon, and we'll update you as soon as we do.
