Report: Crytek's New IP Is A Shooter

by Joe Juba on Jul 30, 2011 at 06:41 AM

After Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli made some enigmatic remarks about an inde-friendly new IP, an employee resume may have spilled a few more details about the upcoming project.

According to the resume of gameplay programmer David Ramos, one of the projects he has worked on is "new IP, shooter genre, TBA title for Xbox360, PS3 and PC." Okay, considering that Crytek made the excellent shooters FarCry and Crysis, this doesn't seem surprising. However, Yerli had previously mentioned that the new IP would help indie devs make a mark, empower[ing] them, not just from a game development perspective, but in terms of what is beyond game development."

There's no definitive proof that this new IP and the IP referenced by Yerli are the same, so Crytek may still have something up its sleeve.
