Nintendo Files U.S. Trademark For Mistwalker's The Last Story
Is the Japanese Wii-exclusive RPG coming to America? Based on this recently trademark filing, it appears so. Fans of Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi's Mistwalker studio (which made Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey) have been hoping that The Last Story would make it to the west, but it had not been officially confirmed by Nintendo that the game was being localized.
This trademark filing should not be taken as the final word -- companies like Nintendo often make trademark filings for names of products that are never released -- but it's certainly a good sign.
Based on everything we've seen of the game so far, including the trailer below, The Last Story looks like an intriguing Japanese RPG experience -- something the Wii has sorely lacked.
