We first heard that the Wii would be receiving a Dragon Quest compilation in Japan in May, but now we have a little more information, including a release date and some of the bonus goodies it will come packed with.

Andriasang reports that the Dragon Quest Collection will launch on September 15 for 4,440 Yen (about $55). As previously reported, the pack will include the original Dragon Quest Famicom trilogy as well as Super Famicom remakes of all three.

More importantly, the game will include the first ever video footage of Dragon Quest X, the upcoming brand new Wii iteration of the long-running RPG series. Despite being announced back in 2008 (well before Dragon Quest IX was released), Square has released no video, no screens, and virtually no information about DQ X, so this is fairly big news for fans.

The set will also include a reprinting of classic guides for the three included games, a medal like the ones you collect in the games, an art collection on the disc, and special new anime openings for all three games.

We've contacted Square Enix to see if they have any plans to bring the Dragon Quest Collection to the states and will update if we hear back. My fingers are crossed.
