Twisted Pixel Targets iOS Development

by Matt Bertz on Jun 27, 2011 at 12:50 PM

The developer behind Comic Jumper and Splosion Man plans to create an iPhone game in the near future.

Most developers aren't rushed into jumping onto new platforms, but when a rival publisher basically steals your game wholesale, it tends to change your priorities. After Capcom Mobile shamelessly grifted the core concept of Splosion Man with its the iOS game MaXplosion, Twisted Pixel is ready to carve its own niche in the space.

“I think a lot of our IPs would translate pretty well to mobile," Twisted Pixel CEO Michael Wilford told TouchArcade. "I think there’s a lot of fun stuff you can do with the character-driven IPs we’ve created. And the Capcom fiasco — if you want to call it that — lit a fire under our butts to give [iOS development] a try and see if we can make something there."

“We’re working on something. Nothing to announce yet. Hopefully, relatively soon we’ll having something to share with you guys.”

Does this mean Comic Jumper, Splosion Man, or Ms. Splosion Man is headed to the iPhone? We'll have to wait to find out. In the meantime, you can listen to the entire full TouchArcade interview here.
