Battlefield 3 Goes Back to Wake Island

by Matthew Kato on May 19, 2011 at 04:29 AM

Battlefield 3's Back to Karkand DLC will give gamers four classic Battlefield maps re-imagined and updated for the new game, and in an EA blog some of the developers over at DICE talk about one of their favorites: Wake Island.

The blog talks about lead designer Niklas Fegraeus experiencing Wake Island for the first time in the Battlefield 1942 demo, and it also has a contribution from creative director Lars Gustavsson on what it was like creating the map back in the day and why things were designed the way they were.

The Back to Karkand DLC will be available sometime after the game's holiday release, and is free to anyone who pre-orders the limited edition version – which is only $60.
