The lights are on
Sometimes hoarding is a good thing. On our recent trip to see Battlefield 3 in Sweden, DICE veteran Lars Gustavsson dug through his office and unearthed the original Battlefield 1942 design documents. Watch as he shares memories of DICE's first big shooter, reveals features that were cut from the final version, and talks about his favorite Battlefield maps with Game Informer content manager Matt Bertz.

I love 1942! It was just the best game I had ever seen, so ahead of its time in so many ways.
awww so many good memories from so many good games from them... in fact Battlefield 1942 was the first fps i played on PC, good times
Im only 15 but I got the Battlefield collection awhile ago and I just love it. Its still fun and stuff, I think its great.
It's so cool learning all the roots of my favorite series ever. ^^
How much I love this kind of things! Nice to see all the history details in the mission description.
Hmm its not every day that you get to see where it all began
BF 42 still remains as one of my favorites, I can't even fathom how many hours I spent playing this game. It is still an awesome game to this day, they could reskin BF 42 with new graphics, gameplay, and physics and I would be all over it. I know there is a BF 43 but I think I can speak for the masses that we want moar! I like how Bertz tried to hint around at new maps for BF 43, well played sir you tried.
Cool video. I'm looking forward to Battlefield 3 a lot.
Coolest Battlefield video so far. 5 days left in the month. What else will be revealed?
The BF1942 intro is one the best game intros all time. It still gives me chills
I would like to see a Wake Island for BF3 :D
Ahh, I think I'll have to pop in my 1942 disc and jump on moronville!
My favourite game in the franchise.
This was pretty cool. I used to love playing Battlefield 1942 at my friends house or at LAN parties. I played Call of Duty 1 and 2 too, but I still like Battlefield more. It was just so much larger, and with the ability to use vehicles it was just so epic.
I played Battlefield 2, but I haven't touched either of the Bad Company's. I think I'll have to pick up Battlefield 3, though.
cool
