CosBlog #54: Zevran Arainai By Love Squad

by Meagan Marie on May 11, 2011 at 07:01 AM

Veteran Cosplayer Elena (Love Squad) has dozens of impressive costumes under her belt, including this tribute to Dragon Age Origins’ Zevran. Check it out below, and be sure to visit her DeviantArt for more impressive ensembles.

Who: The Character
The character is Zevran Arainai from Dragon Age Origins, a dashing elven assassin. I decided to make the advanced version of his light armor. It's dark and more stylish - I don't like his default green armor. I prefer to keep my pants on also, since in his default version there are no pants at all.

Why: The Decision

I started to play Dragon Age Origins in February of 2010 and immediately fell in love with Ferelden and all the Gray Warden stuff. But the fun started when I met Zevran. I love him - he kills all stereotypes about elves. He's an amoral, short ,cynical Antivan Crow. He also has a perfect sense of humor. His dialogues with party members are just the best.

What: The Process
This armor took me one month to make. It's the most detailed stuff I've ever made. The skirt itself consists of somewhere around 85 parts. I'm quite proud of this costume. I used fake leather, resin and plastic for this costume.

Where and When: The Debut
I only wore this costume once on holiday for the photoshoot. My sister and I took the photos in forest near our country house.

I have a gallery on DeviantArt, Cosplay.com, and Cure.
