EA Sports Talks More About Persistent ID Program

by Matthew Kato on Apr 12, 2011 at 03:12 PM

At today's Season Opener event, EA Sports talked more about its plans to create an EA Sports ID that will follow you between the label's games and from one year to the next.

Plenty of details are still being figured out about the program, such as whether you'll keep the same exact level from year-to-year (If you ended on level 22, for instance, one year would that literally remain, or would you start at some arbitrary cut-off like level 20?), and according to EA Sports' senior vice president of worldwide development, Andrew Wilson, there is no firm date to introduce this new program. Given the its vagueness at the moment, we wouldn't bet on seeing it until the 2013 slate of EA Sports titles.

However, Wilson did say that right now EA Sports is planning to make it work across games on different platforms, and he also added that real-life rewards for your progress isn't out of the question.

What kinds of things would you like to see out of the program?
