Despite Ubisoft referring to We Dare as a game for adults, the Video Standards Council in England has given the game a 12+ rating. This has angered senior politicians according to The Telegraph, but the ratings board is defending their decision. Director Laurie Hall says "The average 16-year-old would think everything in We Dare was beneath them – although the game contains innuendo and suggestion, if it showed anything sexual it would have received a 16 rating".

Ubisoft has now added a parental advisory sticker to the game "in order to ensure that parents are informed of the potential sensitive nature of the game content". One mother was quoted as saying "I have a 13 year old daughter and if I knew she was playing such a highly charged sexual game with boys, I would be appalled. It is encouraging underage sex.” A father also chimed in with "This sort of computer game will only serve to fuel sexual tensions and in a worse case scenario sexual touching or assault. Imagine a room of testosterone-fueled teenagers playing this, something could get out of hand."

While the game does look inconceivably stupid, let's not start with the sexual assault stuff again.
