It’s Polygons For Final Fantasy III On The iPhone

Square Enix announced on Monday that Final Fantasy III is coming to iOS, following in the footsteps of Final Fantasy I &II. The reveal posed an interesting question: Would the iOS version be based on the 2006 DS remake (polygons), or rather be in the same vein as the enhanced versions of I & II (sprites)?

Andriasang revealed today (via Famitsu) that Final Fantasy III for the iPhone is indeed a remake of the 2006 DS game. Famitsu dropped a few more details, clarifying that the graphics are being brushed up to a higher resolution and the sound will be updated, too. The Monster viewer gallery has also been redesigned.

Final Fantasy III for iOS is scheduled to release in Japan next month.
