Fake Great Gatsby NES Game Discovered, Worth Playing

by Phil Kollar on Feb 15, 2011 at 02:15 PM

Ah, finally a video games that my fellow English majors and I can get behind. We all know that video games rot your mind, but how about games based on classic literature?

Over at the Great Gatsby Game website, some talented soul has posted a Flash game supposedly ripped from a real life NES cartridge found "at a yard sale." While this Great Gatsby game based on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald is sadly not actually from the NES-era, it is awesome.

Go play it and enjoy the wonderful retro art style and gameplay that some mysterious designer has thrown together. Here's hoping that whoever created this is hard at work on other retro titles based off of literature. Super Pride and Prejudice, anyone?

Seriously, though, this feels like a more respectful adaptation than Dante's Inferno. What's up with that?
