Those eager for a real Fender Squier guitar that's compatible with Rock Band 3 still need to wait until March of next year to get their hands on the instrument, but Fender has finally revealed how much money they'll need to save up in that time.

According to a post on Fender's website, the guitar/controller will be sold for $279.99. You can sign up on the site to receive details via e-mail as they become available, and there's also a video on the site showing it off in action. Preorders for the instrument will begin on January 1, 2011.

Anyone eager to pay this hefty sum for a chance to actually learn music while playing video games? I've been considering it, but nearly $300 is a lot to ask for something I'm not 100 percent sure on yet.
