Alongside other announcements from Nintendo’s press event yesterday evening, Capcom pulled back the curtain on Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.

The core gameplay of Mercenaries 3D involves players taking on the clock to defeat foes in a set amount of time. The mercenaries missions featured are drawn from Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, but Capcom promises to augment play by adding new modes and familiar faces. Mercenaries 3D will also take advantage of WiFi connectivity, allowing players worldwide to indulge in co-op play.

This is the second Resident Evil title in development for the 3DS, the first being Resident Evil: Revelations, announced alongside the official unveil of the 3DS hardware.
