If you checked out my Massive column in the October issue of Game Informer, you already know about my relationship with City of Heroes. I spent a ton of time with the game when it launched, then stopped. Recently, I returned to the game to check out its new Going Rogue expansion, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much it has improved over the years. Are you a lapsed superhero who wants to check it out again as well? NCSoft has a great deal coming up for you.
The official City of Heroes website has all the details on this reactivation event, which will begin on October 7 and run through October 10. Not only is NCSoft reactivating all lapsed accounts for five days, but all users will have access to the new content in Going Rogue for that time. You'll be capped at Level 14 for the new Praetoria zones, though, so be ready to shell out if you get really into it.
In all seriousness, I know it's a crazy busy time for game releases, but if you had a City of Heroes account in the past and happen to be free the weekend of October 7, be sure to spend some time back in Paragon City. It'll be well worth it.
