Survive Splicer Onslaught In Protector Trials

by Meagan Marie on Aug 03, 2010 at 05:33 AM

Update: The Protector Trials DLC launches today for 400 Microsoft Points/$4.99. How many of you plan on playing savior to a Little Sister?

BioShock 2 publisher 2K detailed Protector Trials early this morning, the first single-player download for the game. The pack joins previous DLC Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack and Rapture Metro Pack.

The content will pit players against ADAM-infused Splicers as a Big Daddy, tasked with protecting his Little Sister while she harvests ADAM. Six maps from the single-player campaign can be explored, each with three difficulty levels. We’re told that a firm grasp of weapons and Plasmids will be needed to survive the Splicer onslaught. New unlockables and achievements/trophies will also be included.

“The team at 2K Marin has been working hard ever since the launch of BioShock 2 to develop ways for gamers to extend their time in the single-player world of Rapture,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.  “I'm proud to announce the first of these experiences, the Protector Trials, which takes players back to some of their favorite places from the original game and features some of the biggest challenges that fans of this series have ever experienced.”

Hartmann goes on to promise more single-player content in the future.

Protector Trials will be available to download on August 3 for 400 Microsoft Points/$4.99.
