PS3 Slim Turns White, Upgrades To 320 GB

by Phil Kollar on Jul 05, 2010 at 07:50 PM

If you're getting bored with your plain old black PlayStation 3 that has a 250 GB hard drive at most, we've got just the news you've been waiting for. Sony Japan has announced the introduction of a white PS3 Slim that will also herald even bigger hard drives for the console.

Starting July 29 in Japan, the current 120 GB and 250 GB PS3 models will be stopped in favor of 160 GB and 320 GB models. Andriasang reports that the 160 GB PS3 will also be available in two colors: the normal black and new "Classic White." If you want the bigger 320 GB hard drive, you'll have to stick to black for now.

The 160 GB model (both colors) will retail for ¥29,980 (just over $340), while the 320 GB version will cost ¥34,980 (just under $400). The new PS3s have not yet been confirmed for North America or Europe, but we'll keep our fingers crossed for more news later today.
