Q-Games Takes PixelJunk Racers For A Second Lap

by Meagan Marie on Jun 15, 2010 at 02:11 PM

Q-Games is now known for their iconic and quirky PixelJunk series, and much credit is owed to the original PixelJunk title – Racers – for helping establish the franchise as a downloadable champion. Because Racers was Q’s first project, the decision was recently made to revisit it and integrate trophies. Thus, PixelJunk Racers: 2nd Lap was born.

In this reworked version the difficulty has been tweaked thanks to player feedback, and a global ranking system integrated. One of the cooler bonus features is the inclusion of a Ghost Attack mode. This mode looks for the rankings of the top players in the world and allows you to race against a ghost car driving their best time.

No word on how much Second Lap will cost as a standalone release, but if you already had the original Racers title the content won’t cost you a penny. PixelJunk Racers: Second Lap hits PSN later this summer.
